The Full Story

We began this adventure, of picking out our own bourbon, this past early fall. One of our Board members, Jeremy, got this great idea of us doing bourbon barrel tasting, picking the barrel, and bottling it as a fund raiser for the Family Benevolent Fund. Being a bourbon lover, it didn’t take much convincing.

The FBF Board went to Detroit City Distillery and sampled several barrels, which was a difficult task, LOL. We agreed on a batch and the process began.

As we discussed the logistics of designing the custom bourbon bottles, we decided to incorporate one of our fallen brothers from the Oakland Co. Sheriff’s Office, Eric Overall. We decided that we would name this first run of our Signature Bourbon as the #NEVERQUIT batch 664. We also decided to have Eric’s badge number ‘664’ etched on the front of the bottle in remembrance of our Brother.

Our hope is that as you drink or display this custom, one of a kind, individually numbered bottle of bourbon, it will create fond memories and encourage support of the Family Benevolent Fund.

With a grateful heart,

The Family Benevolent Fund Board
